So, you're browsing through dA and you come across this image by =McRockstar and it looks pretty awesome, but the light colored background distracts from it so much. Don't you just wish you could put the image in a lightbox for a bit, so you can focus on the image?

Well now you can. With the userscript LightsOut, available here you just need to click on the "lights out" button over on the right with all the other buttons, and the image pops out into a lightbox. Just click anywhere on the screen and the lightbox will close.

Awesome? I think so :D

Daily Deviation

Given 2011-10-02
LightsOut by =trezoid is a simple but great userscript and easy to install. Many deviations look much better on a dark background without disctractions.

Is it.... really that simple?

It is! That's awesome! Only problem I notice is that it doesn't show up if you are viewing a deviation from your inbox. You have to load the image by itself for the "lights out" button to be there. Still awesome though.

I would sincerely love (and I mean LOVE) to use this. I must ask though, does it work with Google Chrome? My computer seems to utterly hate Firefox and most other browsers. If it does work with Chrome, how do I install it? :o I have never used something like this before, but I REALLY want to use this.

Simply click the install link in the artist's comments, and then the green 'install' button on that page :)

Yes, you have to be at the direct link of the deviation, not in superbrowse (when the url is like #/d123456) ^^;

Yeah. Which stinks a little, but it's still too awesome to pass up.
